New Recipe, New Pinterest Board, New New New!

As I said in my previous post. I love to cook with a glass of wine in hand. I found that pretty cool Asian style meatball recipe on Pinterest (see link in previous post).

I ended up making my own extended/healthy version of it which then inspired me to create yet another board on Pinterest. On this new board, I am going to snap photos of the recipes I create/make and write the ingredients below the photo for future reference.

Alas, here is the meal:
FYI I don't measure unless I am baking :)
Ginger scallion ground chicken meatballs with spicy brown rice. (healthy twist on Chinese food).
Meatballs: Chop fresh ginger, chop garlic and scallion. Then sauté in sesame oil. Add mixture to ground chicken (or any chop meat) with two eggs and breadcrumbs. Once lined up in baking dish (you can fry if you wish) coat meatballs in a sesame sweet teriyaki sauce. Baking time & temp depends on size of meatballs. I just watch and move them around for about 30-50 mins on 400. I don't measure ingredients either I just eyeball and add to taste.
Rice: Sauté onion, red pepper and bean sprouts in sesame oil. Add spicy stir fry mixture (pre-packaged spice packet) then add to cooked brown rice.

Key ingredients: Ginger and sesame oil!

No, seriously...sesame oil is VITAL.

Then for Mothers Day during cocktail hour(s) (yes, we love that) I brought these babies out as d'oeuvres:

While cold, cut into quarters with toothpicks.

Good for a get together or you can make them mini :)

Yay for recipes!

{Finally} Friday!

What. a. week. That is all I can say!! Let me give you a run down which will lead into the weekend.

Sunday:

I participated in the MS {Multiple Sclerosis} Walk @ Jones Beach on Long Island. I walked with my mom and the kind people of her company on the board walk @ 9am; 4 miles. It was a blast and for a great cause.
{The Team}

They had cool shirts you could write messages on about why you are walking. My bff's mother has MS so I walked for her:

{Me}

After this, I went to the diner with my mom. I suddenly felt SO TIRED. Im talkin "get me into bed ASAP because my head is going to fall off" tired. I took...ready for it...a 4 hour nap!! Is that even considered a nap?? (In my defense, I woke up at 5:45am to take a train home from my boyfriends.) Turns out I was coming down with what I would call the worst cold I have had in a LONG time. I ended up calling out of work Tuesday (hate doing that).

It was just me and this one all day. In bed.

{My pup, Stoli}

The rest of the week I was fighting this cold. I am sure it hasn't been fun to work near my cube. Anyways, I am feelin better and its the freakin weekend!

Tonight we are puppy sitting this guy; boyfriends moms dog aka my furr brother:

{Bo}

And I will be making this meal thanks to Pinterest:

{Saucy Asian Meatballs}

I am Italian {& Irish} but since the Italian is on my moms side, I was brought up around the Italian traditions/cooking. Therefore, I LOVE to eat to cook everything and anything Italian. So, these meatballs are a tad bit out of my comfort zone. Ya feel me? We will see how this goes.

Saturday will be my first day out since recovering from the killer cold. It's going to be b-e-a-u-tiful out!! Sunday is, of course Mother's Day <3

Enjoy!

Reality T.V. Addiction

Big reality TV fan over here. I love when there is something to watch every week night. Sadly, I really look foward to them! I wish I was someone who after a long day at work found it relaxing to come home and read. But listen, I read all day long at work and by the time I am home all I need want is a glass of vino and mindless trashy TV.

Thus, I have a few go-to stations: Style Newtwork (Jerseylicous, Guiliana & Bill), VH1 (Ice Loves CoCo, Mob Wives, Baseball Wives...I could go on), E! (Even though I dislike them, I still watch the Kardashians) and BRAVO (All of the Real Houswives Seasons).

BRAVO is one of my favorite stations. Andy Cohen is a genius (Watch What Happens Live, anyone?). I love all of the Real Housewives; NJ, OC, NY, ATL (in that order).

New Jersey is #1 on the list. I tend to sway towards shows based around Itlians in New Jersey. Why? I have no idea. I'm Italian but I don't think that has anything to do with it. This show truly brightens my otherwise depressing Sunday nights! My favorite housewife is Melissa; she has such a cute family. Team Gorga over here. (I also usually like her outfits, like the one below which I proceeded to purchase and can't wait to wear again.)

Jerseylicious
I can always appreciate a wacky, light, funny reality show. I love these people!

I am looking forward to another season of the Bachelorette as well as the below new show "Melissa (Rycroft) and Tye" now airing on CMT. It reminds be of a "Newlyweds" inspired show (only with a baby). It's on Fridays @ 9:30pm (DVR time much?).

The Beginning

Ok, lets face it. I have no idea where to start/what to start blogging about.

I will start by saying that this blog will be 100% girly because well, thats me. I love dresses, pink, my dog, cooking, the Yankees (I do love sports, so maybe this blog will be 98% girly), Shoes, Hangbags, Carrie Underwood (yes, born and raised a New Yorker and I love CU.) See below:
That was on my usual morning stroll past Good Morning America on my way to the office. I usually just walk by in a huff trying to get to work 30 mins early (over achiever) with coffee in hand zig-zagging around tourists screaming by the GMA windows. Its rare that I actually care about whomever is the guest. I have seen Sam Champion 10 too many times (whitest teeth I've EVER seen.) The amount of paps outside of the side door usually measure up to how cool the guest is. I wish I could have seen her shoes but the man with the umbrella prevented that from happening.

I was home sick yesterday with a brutal cold. All there was to do was nap, watch day time TV with my dog and shop on my ipad. (That thing makes it way too easy.)

It was my first time shopping via Tobi.com and I ordered the below.

(Denim leggings in white)

Cute flowwy number in yellow to wear with above leggings

These kinds of shirts are so easy to wear whether it is with leggings, jeans or shorts.
This dress could be a mistake but it made me happy and all girls appreciate dresses that are tight on the bum and loose on top every now and then.

I also ordered this baby last week and it should be arriving today via katespade.com

Thanks to Nordstrom canceling my original order. I went over to KateSpade.com and got 20% off which saved me a pretty penny. I havent had a Kate Spade bag since the nylon craze in middle school. (Yup that was "normal" in this neck of the woods for a 14 year old to have a Kate Spade bag). Anyways, I needed a neutral color bag so give my rather large black bag a break when necessary.

That's all for now!
